Helpmeet

Updated: Jul 17, 2023

She's genuinely his helpmeet!

As I am sitting on my porch early Saturday morning, writing. From my perspective, I witness one unique and notable sight of a help meet. A husband and wife (I'm assuming) are working on a yard together. She sits in the truck as he mows, edges, and blows all excess grass into the street. Periodically, he comes to the truck to exchange a tool for another one, and like clockwork, she jumps out of the truck and gives him a refreshment and a towel to wipe the sweat from his brow. He then proceeds back to the yard. This continues for some time. Some may think it's no big deal. Still, as I continue to observe, she removes a white trash bag from the truck, walks over to her husband, gives him a towel,

discards it in the white trash bag when he is through, and then takes out a broom and dustpan, opens up the bag and begins to sweep the leaves off the ground into the trash bag. Im am in awe! Did he ask her to do this? Did she suggest she take on this role?

Whatever the reasoning, it's just beautiful and reminds me of Christ's love for us. He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is there when we need a break, a refreshment, and a helping hand. He's there, wants to be there, whether we ask him or not; he's there!

Can you see the towel he is handing you after a hard day or a tough decision?

Can you see Him there with a cup of water after you have dealt with some life-changing words to others?

Can you see Him there with a trash bag cleaning up the fallen sins in your life after you have given them to Him?

Wow! All I can say is thank you, Lord, for all you have done for me.

Isaiah 54:5 NLT

Indeed Your husband is your Maker; his name is the Lord of Armies and the Holy One of Israelis, your Redeemer; He is called the God of the whole earth.

Living in, on, and for purpose, are you?
