Now that's my God!

Hey, ya'll! Happy 2024! I just love God's word! I love how it connects different scriptures from all over the bible, let's dive in. Exodus 14:14 says God will fight for you and our job is to be still. Then if you head over to Psalm 46:10 it says be still and know that I am God. Even in 2 Chronicles 20, we see God rescue Jesophat and even tell him that this fight does not belong to him, it belongs to the Lord. These verses are awesome in themselves! The other night I was studying Psalm 18 (obviously Holy Spirit because I intended to study Psalm 27) but the title of Psalm 18 spoke volumes Praise for Deliverance. So I began what I thought would be a quick read before heading over to my intended scripture (which I never reached). This dynamic and dramatic way that God responded to David's cry just blew me away. Please, I urge you to take a deep dive into these verses, you will be overwhelmed with joy! Anywho, God heard his son crying out to him and swooped down from heaven to rescue him;

12 Suddenly the brilliance of his presence broke through with lightning bolts and hail— a tempest dropping coals of fire. 13 The Lord thundered; the great God above every god spoke with his thunder voice from the sky. The Most High uttered his voice! 14He released his lightning arrows and routed my foes. See how they ran and scattered in fear! 15 Then with his mighty roar he laid bare the foundations of the earth, uncovering the secret source of the sea. The hidden depths of land and sea were exposed by the blast of his hot breath. 16 He rescued me from the mighty waters and drew me to himself! 17 Even though I was helpless in the hands of my hateful, strong enemy, you were good to deliver me. 18 When I was at my weakest, my enemies attacked— but the Lord held on to me. 19 His love broke open the way, and he brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me! 20 He rewarded me for doing what’s right and staying pure.

Is this not intriguing? His word truly blows me away! Hallelujah! To God be the Glory! Why does God rescue like this? What's the big deal you may be asking? I sincerely believe God is a mystery and can not be contained in a container with a lid. He rescues when and how he wants to especially for his child and especially when they are in obedience to His word and the call he specifically placed on that individual's life. This is written proof, text evidence that my God will truly supply my needs as stated in Philippians 4:19. Whatever I need is available when I ask and cry out. Watch Him deliver and rescue his child. I encourage you to read Psalm 18 in its entirety. I also encourage you to sit at his feet and allow Him to abide in you John 15:7, not to mention open the door to your heart when He knocks, Revelation 3:20.

Listen if you have children or family or a very near and dear relationship, wouldn't you fight who's fighting them when they call upon you for help? Now, that's My God, He fights my battles.

Living in, on, and for purpose, are you?
